The tale of a very painful chronically fractured canine.
One determined equine veterinarian + one nerve blocked and pain free horse + 3 hours of patience = a 5cm canine is extracted. These canine teeth may look small but they curve around within the bone and require very good pain relief and bone removal to extract.
A couple of weeks off and he should feel a lot better. He loves the warm water his owner is lavaging his mouth with, so nice for them to provide him with warm and not cold on his healing mouth.
Thank you Oliver Liyou from EVDS for your advice and expertise – your recent 5 day intermediate dental workshop will help our practice to help horses.
